While furnishing any room is not an easy task, bedrooms are possibly the trickiest. We tend to just not fuss about the bedroom a lot of the time, cause we tend to think that we don’t spend a lot of time there, and when we do we’re mostly asleep. We also don’t entertain guest there unlike we do in the kitchen or the living room, so we don’t bother with finding perfect design choices for it. A bedroom is a place where you actually spend a third of your life, it’s also a place where you’re supposed to relax, recharge, feel the most comfortable and peaceful at. But lots of people undermine the importance of a well designed bedroom and then wonder why they can’t get a decent night’s sleep or feel truly cosy there. So today we’re going to tell you about 8 bedroom design mistakes you might be making and how to fix them.
1. Too Much Furniture
Bedroom is a place where you’re supposed to sleep and relax – that’s it. It’s not your office, your party zone or your beauty salon. So try to limit your furniture and only have what’s necessary to install a cosy atmosphere. Also, try to place all of your furniture alongside the walls, so that you have free space in the center of the room.
2. Bad Bedside Table
Lots of people think that any bedside table will do. But that’s not true. It’s important to get one that’s the right height, so that it’s comfortable to reach for things without straining and it has to be big enough to fit all you necessities like a book, a glass of water a little dish for jewelry that you take off before bed. Make sure you get one with a little drawer for your cell phone, so it can be close by, but not distract you with that blue light if you get notifications at night.
3. Loud Colors
Some people think that adding a bright color to their bedroom is a good idea. They think it’ll make it warm and cosy. That’s not how it works thought. Bold colors are better suited for rooms that require entertaining guests. Bedrooms should be neutral to promote calmness, go with off white or earthy tones, shades of blue are great for promoting peaceful sleep too.
