The 21 Most Beautiful Movie Shots

We’re used to thinking that works of art are paintings and statues, perhaps some interactive exhibitions. A lot of the time we associate art with something that belongs in a museum or an art gallery. But cinema is a form of art too. In fact, I’d argue that a film is the greatest form of art because it’s all encompassing and it’s such a big collaborative project that includes so many talented and artistically gifted people who came together to create something wonderful. Too many people rate movies based on their plot, the idea they’re trying to get across and the commercial success. Some take into consideration the script, the acting, the camerawork, but way too few people stop and think about the fact that a film is a collection of specific shots, and if it’s a great movie, every single one of those shots was created intentionally. If you think that way a movie is like a million paintings or photographs, and today we want to share some of the best movie shots.

1. Requiem For A Dream, 2000

2. The Grand Budapest Hotel, 2014

3. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Episode V), 1980

4. American Psycho, 2000

5. The Last Emperor, 1987

6. My Neighbor Totoro, 1988

7. Twin Peaks, 1990
