10 Signs You’re a Hopeless Romantic

We live in a world that makes it seem like true romance is dead. It’s all swiping on Tinder, sliding into DMs, hookups, one-night stands, friends with benefits, etc. People keep calling rom-coms cheesy and unrelatable, because it’s all for TV, stuff like that doesn’t really happen often in real life. Yet romance is not dead, hopeless romantics still exist and you might be one of them. Here’s a handy list of things hopeless romantics care about and if you find yourself nodding along when reading it – congratulations, you’re a hopeless romantic and it’s a good thing!

1. You Believe In Finding Your Other Half
It’s not that you don’t feel whole on your own, but the idea of finding that special someone, the other half, your soulmate, whatever you want to call it, is important to you. You know that your life will change in that moment and everything will become more enjoyable and make more sense with your life partner by your side.

2. You Love Romantic Comedies
While others make fun of rom-coms and sneer in their general direction, you silently hope that something similar happens to you at least once in your lifetime. You dream of a guy showing up at your house with a boombox, playing your song. You’ve watched every single movie with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan and you have preferred rom-coms for every occasion be it Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Valentine’s Day or any other occasion.

3. You’re Daydream
Even if you don’t have a romantic partner at the time you can’t help but daydream about what it will be like when you have one. You think up scenarios in your head of what you’d say, how you’d act, what would be your perfect date and what’s going to be your special song.

4. You Believe In Love At First Sight
You know the importance of getting to know someone but you still believe in love at first sight. You just have this feeling that once you see your soulmate you’ll know right away that you’re meant to be together and they’ll know it too. And from that point on it’s just a matter of time before you get married and live happily ever after.
